About Me

I graduated from the University of Chicago in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.  After I graduated, I finally got to read what I wanted. I realized that all of my “pleasure” books were about food, food policy, and how consumers and agribusinesses are intertwined.  I couldn’t shut up about food.  The policies outraged me, lobbyists made my blood boil, restaurant and meat packing procedures infuriated me! It dawned on me that I never felt so fervent about social or personality psychology.  Even studying about gender inequality didn’t rile me up as much. SuperSize Me made me sick to my stomach, but what disturbed me most were the policies that made McDonald’s so cheap in comparison to fresh fruits and vegetables.  It angered me that fast food is so readily available in poor neighborhoods, but good grocery stores are always hard to find.

I decided to take the research and analytical skills I developed while at the University of Chicago and apply it to the US’s food policies and other food(ie) events.
I’m not sure if it will lead to a fulfilling career, but it will at least provide an outlet for some of my inner dialogues and frustrations. Bon appétit.
